An oil well pipe formed so that it is rarely broken even by ground subsidence, by providing a slide layer on an outer portion of an oil well pipe body and thereby reducing a frictional force exerted on the oil well pipe, characterized in that the slide layer is formed out of such a material and to such a thickness that a residual negative frictional force determined after the slide layer has been used and deformed for one year at a temperature at which the oil well pipe has been used does not exceed 2x10<3> N/m<2>, or out of such a material that a stiffness coefficient (S(t)) determined after the slide layer has been used and deformed for one year at a temperature at which the oil well pipe has been used ranges from 10<-5> N/m<2> to 10<3> N/m<2>, the oil well pipe having an adhesive layer between the pipe body and the slide layer, whereby restricting values of physical properties of the slide layer in this manner to reduce the occurrence of a sliding phenomenon during an oil well pipe laying operation, improve the adhesion of the slide layer and oil well pipe body, and to prevent the breakage of the slide layer due to a physical impact which the oil well pipe receives from the outside during the transportation or the laying of the oil well pipe and a decrease in a frictional force reducing effect by employing a protective layer on the slide layer.

|
