A fluid treatment apparatus, for separating a solvent-soluble fraction (A) from a fluid, has a two-phase compressor (1) for dissolving the fraction (A) in a selective solvent phase and a separator (16) for separating the fraction (A) solution from depleted fluid. An Independent claim is also included for a method of separating a fraction or constituent (A) from a fluid using the above apparatus.
