PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a backup function for a server computer trouble without letting a user feel the burden of cost by requesting a controller to perform various operations if a client computer confirms that a fault has occurred to a server computer. SOLUTION: A personal computer 6 has a function for determining whether or not a fault has occurred to a store computer 5. When it is confirmed that there is no fault, requests to perform various operations are sent to the store computer 5 through a communication line 4, but if fault occurrence is confirmed, a POS controller 2 is requested directly to perform the various operations through the communication line 4. Thus, even if the store computer 5 is shut down owing to some fault, the personal computer 6 is able to send the execution request commands for the various operations directly to the POS controller 2, which performs the various operations, thereby minimizing the influence on the store. |
