PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an interpolation quantity with high accuracy by deciding surely spatial similarity of vacant lattice points in the interpolation device that applies interpolation processing to an image where lattice points outputting a predetermined color and the vacant lattice points not outputting the color form a checkered pattern. SOLUTION: The interpolation device is provided with a 1st similarity calculation means 29 that calculates a 1st longitudinal similarity and a 1st lateral similarity, a 2nd similarity calculation means 30 that calculates a 2nd longitudinal similarity and a 2nd lateral similarity, a similarity decision means that decides a similarity of vacant lattice points in the longitudinal direction based on the 1st longitudinal similarity and the 2nd longitudinal similarity and decides a similarity of vacant lattice points in the lateral direction based on the 1st lateral similarity and the 2nd lateral similarity, and an interpolation amount calculation means 32 that selects a pixel output of lattice points placed in a direction having a strong similarity or weighted sums pixel outputs of the lattice points placed in the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction to calculate an interpolation quantity. |
