PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity, waterproof, and chemical resistance, and to facilitate machining in an application factory, by coating a planar heating element and its lead wire with an armor material made of cross-linking hardness insulating material containing fibrous material. SOLUTION: In this planar heater, a planar heating element 1 and its lead wire 2 are coated with an armor material 3. The planar heating element 1 essentially has no limitation in material as long as the purpose is not damaged. The armor material 3 is a cross-linking hardness insulating material containing fibrous material. The fibrous material is preferably a material having insulation property such as a glass fiber. The cross-linking hardness insulating material is a material which concretely has insulation property, generates cross-linking reaction by a method such as two-liquid mixing or heating, and hardens, for example, a hardening liquid rubber such as a polybutadiene rubber is used. The planar heater can has a desired film thickness, by directly coating the planar heating element 1 and the lead wire 2 with non woven fabric or others and by impregnating and hardening a liquid rubber around it. |
