PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device which displays highly precise and fine picture with a lot of scanning lines numbers. SOLUTION: Scanning pulses are provided from a top side negative electrode drive part 22a to upper half negative electrodes 121 -12n of a plasma display panel 10A in order so that a display cell 14ij or a cross point with the display positive electrodes 11a1 -11aM which are driven by the top side positive electrode drive part 21a displays. On the other hand, the scanning pulses are provided from the bottom side negative electrode drive part 22a to the lower half negative electrodes 12n+1 -12N in order so that the display cell 14ij or a cross point with the display positive electrodes 11b1 -11bM which are driven by the top side positive electrode drive part 22a displays. Two negative electrodes 12 can be scanned simultaneously by two independent drive circuits so that the highly precise and fine picture can be displayed without any flicker. Moreover, auxiliary positive electrodes 131 -13p are arranged in the top/bottom in common and driven by an auxiliary positive electrode drive circuit 23 so that the circuit constitution can be simplified. |
