PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magneto-optical recording/reproducing method provided with high speed and high density at the same time. SOLUTION: In a magneto-optical recording/reproducing method of a magnetic field modulation system irradiating a light beam on an optical disk, at the same time, applying a magnetic field and recording a magnetization domain 102, a rugged groove is provided on an optical disk substrate, the thermal conductivity of the optical disk substrate is selected lower than the thermal conductivity of a vertical magnetized film, the flat part of the recessed groove part of the vertical magnetized film is made to a recording track 113 and the length of the recorded magnetization domain 102 in the width direction of the recording track 113 is made so as to become the width or below of the recording track. Thus, over writing provided with high speed and high density at the same time becomes possible regardless of the characteristics of a recorder and a recording film. |
