PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high brightness light emitting element which has a high electric energy utilizing efficiency and has an enhanced durability. SOLUTION: A light emitting element to work with electric energy is configured so that a substance to make light emission as the fundamental function exists between a positive electrode and negative electrode, and contains a compound selected among a group of homologous organic compounds meeting the condition that (a) is over 7×10<4> according to the relational expression Tg=-a(1/Mw)+b, where Tg is the glass transition temperature by deg.C and Mw is the molecular weight.
