The rod cap is an elastic sleeve (20) surrounding the rod between its support and the sliding caliper. The end (22) of the sleeve which fits against the rod has inner and outer rings (221, 222) with channels, and inner surfaces (2213, 2223) forming a thrust surface for the rod. The rings have an annular chamber (223) between them containing a seal lip (224) of the same material as the sleeve and pressing against the column to form a non-return valve. The seal lip has a deeper recess on its outward facing side than its inward-facing side. |
