The column (6) is fixed by a screw (10), inserted in a housing (5), against the mounting support (4) of a brake. The front face (41) of the support has a reference face against which butts up the reference face (71) of the column (6). A washer (20) with two arms is interposed between the screw and the column, each arm containing flexible loops (23,24 and 33,34) which locate and wedge the screw in the housing. The final folds (25,35) of the arms end up with feet (26,36) which ensure the correct orientation of the column.
