Mixtures of octamethyl trisiloxane (I) and decamethyl tetrasiloxane (II) in the weight ratio (I)/(II) = 0.4 - 2.4 (0.65 - 1.5), and cosmetic compositions containing them. (I) and (II) are of formula n = 1 (I) or 2 (II). Cosmetic compositions preferably contain 0.5 - 95 % of the mixture in addition to other carriers, surfactants, nonvolatile silicones, conditioners, resin fixers, protecting polymers, plasticizers, sequestering agents, humectants, water soluble or dispersible polymers, oils, thickeners, gelling or solidifying agents, texturing agents, astringents, bactericides or bacteriostats, emollients, anti-UV agents, pigments, antioxidants and vitamins. (I) and (II) are both commercially available. |
