PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twin-coupled system, which enhances the pumping efficiency of a double-clad optical-fiber amplifier, and the manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: A twin-coupled system includes first and second optical couplers 3600 and 3700, which connect a multimode pump fiber to a double-clad active main fiber. A pump fiber 3800 carries the multimode pump power from a multimode source. In the meantime, main fibers 3100 and 3200 carry optical information signal on a single-mode core, which is amplified by the pump power. In the manufacturing system and method of the twin-coupled system, the first coupler is formed by performing the adhesion to the main fiber and the pump fiber and taper forming process at the first part, and the second coupler is formed by performing adhesion to the main fiber and the pump fiber and tape formation at the second part. |
