PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily deal with the presence or absence of line monitor relating to the respective optical fibers in a frame by housing a termination unit constituted by selecting either of adapter modules or coupler modules into the frame. SOLUTION: The termination unit 29 includes a unit body supported in the line side frame. Any of adapter modules 44 including optical connector adapters 44a and coupler modules, such as coupler modules 45, for switchably connecting optical fibers 28 and optical fibers 33 via the built-in optical couplers are attachably and detachably built onto the unit body. The presence or absence of the line monitor may be easily selected with respect to the respective optical lines within the same termination unit 29 by the constitution. There is no need for disposing the respectively connecting units to be exclusively used into the same frame or separately disposing the optical wiring board to be exclusively used according to the presence or absence of the line monitor. The efficient utilization of the volume in the frame is thus made possible. |
