SOLUTION: Management object devices 2-1 to 2-n inform the network management system 1 of buffer information, such as an information storage period of an equipment information buffer section in its own device and a size at initial connection to the network management system 1. The network management system 1 decides an information collection period for each of the management object device s 2-1 to 2-n, based on the buffer information informed from each of the management object devices 2-a to 2-n and collects equipment information from each management object device in accordance with the information collection period for each of the management object devices 2-1 to 2-n.
