The button (8) is used with a buttonhole made from a ring (2) fitting round the inside of a hole in the garment, a collar against the outer surface of the material (4) and a disc (7) against the inner surface. The buttonhole forms a shoulder (11) for holding a button (8) inserted through it which is equipped with a stud (10) for the other portion (12) of the garment.
