<p>The invention relates to a current limiting device for combinational circuits, especially low and medium voltage, for electricity supply systems and power distribution. The current limiting device is formed by a current limitation element (SE) which contains a high temperature supraconductive material and is arranged in a closed nitrogen container (SB) with a waste gas valve (VA). The current limiting element (SE) is completely surrounded by liquid nitrogen (FN). When heated, it forms gaseous nitrogen (GN) which is recondensed into liquid nitrogen (FN) in a heat exchanger device (WT) by the adjusted action of a refrigerating machine (KM). Current limiting devices of this kind are used in combinational circuits to limit excess currents and short circuit currents.</p> |
