The control unit for the drive motor of a vehicle screen wiper unit, includes a control circuit, which is activated by a wiper switch (18) to be operated manually, and which automatically controls the drive motor in a switching step of the wiper switch corresponding to a characteristic curve, depending on a signal of a rain sensor. The characteristic curve is alterable by a manually operable control facility. The wiper switch has several switching steps.
