A room air management device with a treatment unit including (a) means (2, 3; 5) for combining the air flows entering, exiting and circulating in the room in said treatment unit, (b) means for determining characteristic parameters of the entering, exiting and circulating air flows, (c) means (11, 4, 28, 9, 8) for altering at least some of said parameters in accordance with user requirements or predetermined criteria, which means comprise means (11) for removing thermal energy from at least one of said combined air flows, and means (4, 28, 9, 8) for treating said air flows, (d) means for delivering at least part of the removed thermal energy to a water preheating device (19), and (e) means (7) for redistributing the treated air flows in accordance with the altered parameters.
