Automotive fender shock absorber has bow-shaped internal crosspieces

A profiled metal body used e.g. as an automotive bumper support and incorporates a number of cells. The cells (1a,1b) have facing side walls (2,3) linked by bow-shaped crosspieces (4-6) of increased thickness. The metal used in the crosspieces may be thicker than that employed in the side walls (2,3). The cells are formed using a high-pressure technique.
