A hydraulic setting building material mixture, containing a catalyst-controlled pore-forming additive, is mixed in the dry state with a soluble catalyst precursor which reacts on adding liquid for in-situ catalyst formation. In the preparation of a hydraulic setting building material mixture containing a pore-forming additive for catalyst-controlled gas release on adding liquid, the dry mixture is mixed with a storage-stable soluble catalyst precursor which reacts in the prepared mixture and optionally also reacts with the pore-forming additive for in-situ catalyst formation. An Independent claim is also included for a building material mixture for use in the above process.
