Closed pore silicone foams used as cushioning material, heat insulating material, and fire retardant material

Closed pore silicone foams contain: (a) 100 (wt. pts.) organopolysiloxane having at least two vinyl groups and a viscosity of 0.1-1000 Pa.s; (b) 3-200 surface modified filler; (c) 0.5-10 hydrogen siloxane with at least 3 SiH's per molecule; (d) 0.01-10 ppm Pt in the form of a Pt catalyst; (e) 0.01-5 inhibitor; and (f) 0.3-10 finely divided ammonium hydrogen carbonate as propellant with an average grain size of less than 40 mu m. An Independent claim is included for the production of the foams comprising mixing the components (a) to (f) at not more than 50 deg C, applying to a substrate, foaming above 60 deg C and vulcanizing.
