The lamp (8) supports the cutter (9) against back or feed pressure by a supporting wall (11) which adjusts towards the tool body (2) under the expansion of the clamp (8). The clamp is expanded by means of a splay-coned clamping screw (12) screwed radially into the body (2) and which (12) deflects the locating wall (10) and in so doing clamps the cutter (9) firmly in place. The supporting wall (11) can be fed onto the sidewall of the cutter (9) by a cone headed feed screw (13) screwed radially into the tool body (2). The clamp (8) encases the cutter (9) so the bearing wall of the clamp protects the cutter from the main cutting pressure and the locating pressure of the clamp. Thus in a U-shaped clamp its one wall forms the locating wall (10) and its opposing leg forms the bearing wall so their crosspiece acts as adjustable wall (11), leaving the interval between the two legs to take the cutter (9). The clamp is held in the body (2) by a special radially inserted fixer screw (19). The leg forming the locating wall (10) has a spreader gap (22) between the top end of the U-clamp figure and the U-crosspiece, the gap standing open along one lateral flank at least.
