FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: charge prepared from finely ground clay and limestone by mixing them in amounts 70-99.9 and 0.1-30%, respectively, is moistened to 4-7%, after which products are molded. Molded products are dried at 105-110 C for 1-2 h and roasted in two-step mode at 480- 550 and 550-700 C for 1.5-2 and 1.5-2 h, respectively. EFFECT: reduced power consumption and process time, and improved physico- chemical characteristics of products. 1 tbl
