The invention concerns a single-rod pendular engine characterised by the totally novel design of cylinder arrangement using the following mechanism: there are two connecting single rods on the tips of the crankshaft stub. The single-rod pendular engine comprises all the advantages of the opposed cylinder engine and eliminates the drawbacks thereof. The dimensions and weight of said single-rod pendular engine are much less than those of engines with the same number of cylinders (opposed cylinder engines and V-engines). Said single-rod pendular engine has minimum forces of inertia of the crankshaft and parts which have rectilinear and reciprocating motion, which is possible owing to their reduced weight.
