The hollow support body (12) is used for supporting an elastically expandable electrical cable coupling cuff (10) during fitting. A flat foil band or cord (15), for assisting the sliding movement of the cable coupling cuff relative to the support body, has two sections (15a, 15b) respectively extending along the outside and the inside of the support body and joined together adjacent a separation point (16) for the support body.
