The carrier comprises an indexable turntable 12 including a plurality of housing seatings 18, for the pieces 19, positionable at an operating station 23 of a pinion cutter 14 and a discharge/loading station 24; each seating 18 provides an aperture through which the cutter 14 penetrates. The turntable 12 comprises two superposed rotary plates 16a,b, each providing a series of clamp arms 20a,b, each arm pair defining a seating 18 which is self-centring to cater for different size pieces 19. The turntable is usable with a centring device and means for insertion between teeth of a partly machined double-toothed piece 19 in order for the other teeth to be machined. |
