A device (10) for protecting the tissues of a physiological pathway during explorations performed with diagnostic and/or operating instruments, comprising a thin sheet (11) made of plastics which is rolled up so as to form a tuboid. The tuboid, when inserted in the pathway, elastically increases its diameter as a consequence of the insertion of one of the instruments therein.
