Electromechanical brake for motor vehicle with non-self locking spindle

The electromechanical brake (10) for a motor vehicle, has a non-self locking spindle (19), longitudinally movable, bidirectionally with an electric motor. For pressing at least one brake lining (12.2) against a rotating friction element (13) in an application stroke and for releasing the brake lining in a return stroke. In addition a plate shaped coupling element (44) is arranged between the spindle and the brake lining. The coupling element engages with the spindle, and is supported at right angles to the spindle longitudinal axis with sliding movement at the brake lining.
