PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric ceramic composition of a barium titanate material for ceramic capacitor having high withstand voltage as well as excellent sinterability, high dielectric coefficient, low dielectric loss and flat dielectric constant-temperature characteristics. SOLUTION: This dielectric ceramic composition contains barium titanate having a specific surface area adjusted to 0.8-2.8 m<2> /g as a main component and further contains at least niobium pentoxide, nickel oxide and strontium oxide as subsidiary components. The amount of the niobium pentoxide is 0.8-2.0 wt.% based on the barium titanate and the weight ratio of the niobium pentoxide to the sum of nickel oxide and strontium oxide satisfies the formula 3 <= niobium pentoxide/(nickel oxide + strontium oxide) <= 8 (excluding the case that the amounts of both of nickel oxide and strontium oxide are 0 wt.%). |
