METHOD OF RECOVERING COPPER RESOURCES FROM MOLD PARTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in order to reuse windings as copper metal of high grade, electrolytic refining is required because mold parts have been subjected to earth filling treatment when discarded and valuable metals therein have not much been recovered and insulation coating films of the windings cannot be removed by crushing treatment only. SOLUTION: After mold parts containing winding parts and part or all thereof are covered with mold material are crushed, winding parts are moved from the crushed article and immersed in alkaline water solution, and warmed and pressurized to 150 deg.C or more and 2 atm or more to remove insulation films and recover metal copper of high grade needing no electrolytic refining. By this method, the metal copper can be recovered from the mold parts easily and with high recovery rate.
