<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a barlike handrail from rotating abruptly and simply merely when a user applies his hand thereon so that a physically handicapped person can easily transfer from a wheeled chair to a stool by attaching a rotary device for rotating the barlike handrail and rotating the barlike handrail in the horizontal direction using the rotary device as a support point. SOLUTION: One end of a rotary shaft 47 on which a gear 42 is attached is connected with a motor 43, and one end of a handrail 2 is fixed on a rotary shaft 46 on which a gear 41 is attached. Electricity is conducted into the motor 43 to rotate it and rotate the handrail 2 in the horizontal direction through the gears 42, 41. The handrail 2 is usually folded in so as to adhere on a wall face 5 closely and is rotated in the horizontal direction for use as required. A physically handicapped person sitting on a wheeled chair opens a door of a lavatory and starts the motor 43 by turning on a remote-control switch to rotate the handrail 2 to a predetermined position. He grips the handrail 2 by one hand, gets off the wheeled chair, rotates the handrail 2 up to a position where he can easily sit on a stool by the remote-control switch to fix it, and sits on the stool.</p> |
