PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially suitable method by which 1,5,9- cyclododecatriene is brought into contact with an organic hydroperoxide to afford 1,2-epoxy-5,9-cylododecadiene in a high selectivity. SOLUTION: When 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene is brought into contact with an organic hydroperoxide in the presence of molybdenum trioxide to carry out the monoepoxidation of the 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene, an alcohol is used as a solvent to conduct the monoepoxidation. An alcohol having a 1-6C alkyl group is preferably employed as the alcohol to be used. |
