PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the weatherability of a conductive layer disposed on a base material by providing the surface of this conductive layer with a silicon oxide layer of a specific thickness. SOLUTION: The base material is exemplified by glass, synthetic resin, etc. The conductive layer is exemplified by >=1 layer of metallic layers, layers, etc., formed by laminating >=2 layers of the metallic layers and dielectric layers. The metal of the metallic layer is preferably silver or silver alloy as the silver or silver alloy exhibits high electrical conductivity in spite of the small thickness of the layer. In addition, the dielectric substance of the dielectric layers is exemplified by indium oxide, tin oxide or their multi component oxide, etc. Such conductive layer is disposed on the base material by ordinary methods, for example, vapor deposition, sputtering, CVD, etc. The surface of the conductive layer is provided with the silicon oxide layer having a thickness of (100 to 1000)×10<-10> m. The silicon oxide layer may be formed by ordinary methods, such as vapor deposition, sputtering and CVD, using silicon dioxide. |
