PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the unit which can be manufactured with a simplified manufacturing process and high sealing reliability of which can simply and surely be attained and accordingly, the manufacturing cost of which can be reduced and also to provide the manufacturing method of the unit. SOLUTION: In this unit 1, spacers 4 comprises a first spacer 5 consisting of a band-like resin layer 7 that has self-tackiness and is filled with a desiccant, and a second spacer 6 consisting of a band-like curable resin layer 8 that is provided with a rigid member 9 embedded in the layer 8 throughout its entire length, and the first spacer 5 and the second spacer 6 are placed on the inner side and the outer side in a peripheral edge part of the unit, respectively. This manufacturing method of the unit 1 comprises sticking the first spacer 5 and the second spacer 6 in an uncured or semi-cured state to a peripheral edge part of any one sheet 2 or 3 of two sheets of plate glass 2 and 3 while placing the first spacer 5 and second spacer 6 on the inner side and outer side in the peripheral part, respectively, then, sticking the other sheet 3 or 2 of the two sheets of plate glass 2 and 3 to the first and second spacers 5 and 6 with a pressure to integrally stick the two sheets of plate glass 2 and 3 and the first and second spacers 5 and 6 together, and thereafter, curing the second spacer 6 in an uncured or semi-cured state to concurrently and firmly stick the second spacer 6 to the two sheets of plate glass 2 and 3 and to form the two sheets of plate glass 2 and 3 and the first and second spacers 5 and 6 into a strongly integrated body. |
