PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lengthen the life of a well by minimizing fluctuations in the water level of the well. SOLUTION: The daily average amount of water distribution is set on the basis of prediction of demand for water and normally variable speed intake pumps P1, P2, P3 and variable speed conveying pumps p1, p2, p3 are operated so that the amount of water distribution may be maintained at a set average amount. Water levels 7a, 11a of a clean water reservoir 7 and a water distribution reservoir 11 are monitored. If the water levels 7a, 11a reach the upper limits 7b, 11b, the variable speed conveying pumps p1, p2, p3 and variable speed intake pumps P1, P2, P3 are operated at lower speeds. The water levels 7a, 11a reach the target water levels 7d, 11d, the pumps are returned to a steady-state operation. If the water levels of the clean water reservoir 7 and the water distribution reservoir 11 reach the lower limits 7c, 11c, the variable speed conveying pumps p1, p2, p3 and the variable speed intake pumps P1, P2, P3 are operated at higher speeds. When the water levels 7a, 11a reach the target water levels 7d, 11d as a result, the pumps are returned to steady-state operation and operated without being stopped. |
