PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material usable as an electrode for new lithium ion secondary batteries. SOLUTION: This ceramic material is composed of Sn, Si, O and C (the weight rations of Si, O and C to Sn are (0.001-100), respectively); wherein the Sn in the metallic phase accounts for >=1 vol.% of this ceramic material, and is formed by carbon heat reduction process.
