PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer comprising a piezoelectric element generating a larger displacement with a lower driving voltage. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a diaphragm where one or more piezoelectric element 4 causing variation in the volume of a pressure room upon application of a voltage is arranged at least on one side of a pressure room substrate being filled with ink wherein the piezoelectric element 4 comprises a second piezoelectric layer 42 having a piezoelectric g constant of a specified value or above and a first piezoelectric layer 41 having permittivity of a specified value or above. Since the piezoelectric g constant of the entire piezoelectric element is correlated with the product of higher piezoelectric g constant and permittivity of each piezoelectric layer, a higher piezoelectric d constant, i.e., displacement, can be generated.
