PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiallergic agent which is high in the safety and originates from a natural product. SOLUTION: This antiallergic agent is obtained by formulating an extract extracted with water or an organic solvent from leaves of Piper betle L. and demethyleugenol of the formula isolated and purified from the extract as active ingredients.
