PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the unit which can be manufactured with a simplified manufacturing process and high sealing reliability of which can simply and surely be attained and accordingly, the manufacturing cost of which can be reduced and also to provide the manufacturing method of the unit. SOLUTION: This unit consists of two sheets of plate glass, that are placed apart from each other so as to provide a prescribed space between them, and spacers for retaining this space, that are placed in a peripheral edge part of the unit (panel) to form the tight-sealed hollow space between the two sheets of plate glass, wherein the spacers comprises a first spacer 5 consisting of a band-like curable resin layer 7 filled with a desiccant and a second spacer 6 consisting of a band-like resin layer 8 having self-tackiness, and the first spacer 5 and the second spacer 6 are placed on the inner side and the outer side in the peripheral edge part of the unit, respectively. This manufacturing method comprises sticking the first spacer 5 in an uncured or semi-cured state and the second spacer 6 to a peripheral edge part of any one of the two sheets of plate glass while placing the first spacer 5 and second spacer 6 on the inner side and outer side in the peripheral part, respectively, then, sticking the other of the two sheets of plate glass to the first and second spacers 5 and 6 with a pressure to integrally stick the two sheets of plate glass and the first and second spacers 5 and 6 together, and thereafter, curing the first spacer 5 in an uncured or semi-cured state to concurrently and firmly stick the first spacer 5 to the two sheets of plate glass and to form the two sheets of plate glass and the first and second spacers 5 and 6 into a strongly integrated body. |
