PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce misregistered faulty printing upon restarting after intercepting printing. SOLUTION: A register controlling device is provided with a register sensor 26 for detecting misregistration between patterns printed by neighboring two sets of printing units 10, 12, a register control unit 32 for operating the regulating length of a web between both of the printing units based on the detected amount of misregistration to control automatically a compensator roll 22 by moving the same in accordance with the operated length, a control ON/OFF unit 34 for putting the automatic control ON/OFF during printing with a normal speed, and a speed recording unit 38 for recording the printing speed before reducing a speed as an objective normal speed. The control ON/OFF unit 34 puts the automatic control OFF by operating in conjunction with a commanding input for reducing the printing speed from the stationary speed and puts the automatic control ON when the printing speed after increasing the same has coincided with the objective normal speed. |
