PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a clean paper imparting an excellent wiriting properties and high opacity, and providing no problem in PPC characteristics, etc., by formulating a pigment the use of which is used to be a taboo. SOLUTION: This clean paper has 2-6 g/m<2> amount of solid deposit of a pigment by dipping based on a base paper obtained by carrying out a papermaking of a pulp for the papermaking containing >=20 wt.% coniferous bleached kraft pulp expressed in terms of bone dry weight, the amount of the solid deposit of an aqueous binder of >=1.4 times as much as that of the pigment and <=8.4 g/m<2> , <=1700/ft<3> number of particles having >=0.3μm, and >=75% opacity.
