PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for removing a matter adhering to the surface of a print cartridge. SOLUTION: The inventive unit 1 for removing matters, e.g. fatty acid or phthalic acid, adhering to the surface of a print cartridge comprises a heater section 4 for raising the temperature in an insulating unit, a temperature sensor 5 for detecting the temperature in the insulating unit, an insulating unit control section 13 for controlling turn on/off of the heater section 4 or counting the time required for removing the adhering matters by setting a specific temperature for evaporating the adhering matters and comparing it with the output temperature from a temperature sensor, and means for detecting a print cartridge existing in the insulating unit. The adhering matters are removed by utilizing the properties of the adhering matters evaporating at a specified temperature. |
