PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sleep mode transition unit for printer in which useless power consumption is eliminated. SOLUTION: A print data is delivered from a host unit 7 to a data receiving section 9 and analyzed at a receiving data analyzing section 10. It is then stored in a frame memory as a bit map data and delivered to a printer engine 12 where it is printed onto a recording sheet. During the operation, a valid print data identifying section 14 in the receiving data analyzing section 10 identifies a valid print data, e.g. a character code, included in an input print data. Only when a valid print data is included, it is notified to a sleep mode managing section 13 where a printer 8 is released from sleep mode. |
