<p>PURPOSE:To apply an voltage to individual animal cells uniformly and promote the product formation by adhering animal cells to electrically conductive supports and culturing the cells under application of a weak voltage to the supports. CONSTITUTION:Human digestive organ-originating cells producing carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA), monkey COS, mouse L, human myeloma cells or other adhering animal cells are prepared. The cells are adhered to electrically conductive supports. As the support of electroconductivity, e.g. platinum- metallized film, or a stainless steel base plate coated with an electro-conductive polymer which shows high adhesion to the base plate and is not toxic to microorganisms is suitably used. Then, the animal cells are cultured, as a weak voltage is applied to the supports whereby the promotion or control of living body reactions such as proliferation, metabolism, production or the like of the animal cells can be done.</p> |
