To create an attachment element for wire or cable-like bodies, in particular for ropes or cables for overhead lines, with at least one retention branch that has in one direction of lay a helical or spiral-shaped retainer with which the wire or cable-like body can be helically or spirally wrapped and can be forcibly secured against relative shift in its longitudinal direction, said attachment element being simple to manufacture, handle and mount, it is proposed that the retainer comprise at least one bundle of long fibers that are twisted together and embedded in a plastic matrix.
