The pocket knife, comprising side plates (1), a blade (2) and a spring (3), incorporates a contact strip (4) of a resilient material between the blade edge (22) and spring. The contact strip is fitted between the side plates by a force fit, adhesive, riveting or other means, and is made from a material which has a low level of hardness, good elasticity and high resilience.
