摘要 <p>A vehicle suspension system (22) for mounting to a vehicle chassis (5) includes a subframe (25) which includes two tubular members (30). Each tubular member (30) has a rear chassis mount (33) and front chassis mount (32). The tubular member mounts (32, 33) are constructed and arranged to mount to a leaf spring mounting perch (20) on the vehicle chassis (5). The tubular members (30) are connected by a plurality of cross braces (37) which in turn are connected to a plurality of intermediate tubes (38). A differential mount (45, 46) connects to a cross brace (37) which is connected to a tubular member (30). An upper control arm mount (47) and a lower control arm mount (48) connect to intermediate tubes (38) which are connected to a cross brace (37) which in turn is connected to another cross brace (37). This all connects to at least one tubular member (30). A self-contained suspension assembly mounts to the subframe (25) at various places. For example, a differential (43) mounts to the subframe (25) at the differential mount (45, 46) and a pair of half-axle shafts (50) connect to the differential (43). A cv joint (52) connects to each half-axle shaft (50) and a cv boot (54) covers each cv joint (52). A spindle assembly (60) connects to each cv joint (52). The subframe (25) may further comprise an anti-roll bar (72) connected to the subframe (25). The vehicle suspension system also may have an adjustable cushioning system (56) connected to the half-axle shafts (50) for restricting movement of the half-axle shafts (50). The cushioning system may include coil-over-spring shocks (94) and/or air springs (65). A disc brake system (82) may also be included.</p>
