The invention also relates to a method for recognizing/processing errors in incremental measurement of the position/speed of an actuator in a motor vehicle, whereby two sensors are arranged in an offset position along the movement path of an element and whereby de-phased pulse signals are generated when said element moves and are subjected to a correlation test and/or plausibility test by an evaluation circuit.
