The system of the invention is based on the use of an electrooptical liquid crystal filter which is placed in front of the rear-view mirror itself, although it is also possible to remove the mirror and to use the filter itself as a mirror so that in all situations the electrooptical filter darkens when it receives a direct light or light reflected on its active face, thereby acting as a filter.
