<p>A multipurpose hand tool (30) with folding handles (40) each including a central channel (66) to receive pliers jaws (32) or the like when the tool is folded, and including troughs (76, 78) holding outer blades alongside the central channel (66) so that the outer blades (68, 70, 72, 74) can be opened without unfolding the tool. The troughs (76, 78) face opposite the direction of the central channels, and the bases (92, 94) of the outer troughs act as comfortable places to grip the handles when they are extended for use of the pliers. Blade locking members (108) are incorporated in the walls (82, 84) of the central channels to lock each of the outer blades in an extended position.</p> |
